Some 15 families in Hansisi Village, Semau Island, Kupang District, are among the first families to have received free electricity installation assistance from the company on March 23, 2022, he revealed.
"The installation assistance continues to be provided to eligible recipients that we have logged earlier," Jatmiko stated.
The free electricity installation assistance programme demonstrates PT PLN's commitment to supporting the government in eradicating extreme poverty and improving the livelihoods of residents, particularly in East Nusa Tenggara Province, the general manager remarked.
Meanwhile, Yohanis Nggili, a resident of Hansisi Village, Kupang District, expressed gratitude that PT PLN had provided electrical installation that he expected for long at his house free of charge.

"Earlier, we rely only on oil lamps for illumination during the night because we could not afford electricity installation for our home," Nggili stated.
The resident noted that using an oil lamp is more expensive, as he had to spend at least Rp200 thousand (US$14) every month, excluding transport costs from and to Kupang City, in order to purchase oil for the lamp.
"We are thankful because now we need to only spend Rp100 thousand (US$7) for our electricity fee in two months, and electricity provided by PT PLN also enables us to enjoy proper lighting every night," Nggili remarked.
He is convinced that electricity installation provided by PT PLN in his house will enhance economic activities in his family, as his wife could continue her weaving activities after sunset.
