The government has made various efforts to handle the pandemic, so that it is brought under control and to support revival of the economic sector.
The government's quick response in handling the pandemic came in the form of Presidential Regulation No. 82 of 2020 on the COVID-19 Handling Committee and National Economic Recovery (KP-CPEN).
This allows the government to control the health and economic aspects as well as facilitate policy adaptation amid the pandemic.
Moreover, other quick responses in the health aspect involve mobility restriction, campaign to wearing mask, washing hands, and maintaining distance, as well as ensuring the provision of medicines and vaccinations.
Digitalization is also crucial for the success in handling the pandemic that can be implemented through the integration of PCare, PeduliLindungi, SMILE, and SMDV applications.
This is done to record test results, medical records, vaccination status, and logistics supply chain to handle the pandemic.
The utilization of digital technology is deemed to be immensely beneficial for the central and regional government in monitoring and making a decision based on real, constantly updated data.
"The government has also conducted synergy and collaboration with all parties from various sectors, starting from the regional government to the international institution," the minister remarked.
The coordination between central and regional governments is routinely conducted each week to expedite the formulation of policies related to pandemic handling, especially in the economic sector.
Global collaboration has also been conducted by the government with various international institutions that helped Indonesia in formulating the technical guideline and assisting in vaccine distribution quickly and accurately.
These various institutions include the WHO, IFRC, UNDP, and UNICEF.
Moreover, the government conducts synergy with several other nations, such as Australia, Japan, the United States, Europe, and the United Arab Emirates, to quickly handle logistical needs to meet the domestic demand.
The logistical needs comprise vaccines, oxygenators, and medicines.

In addition, Hartarto noted that the government had pushed for preventive action through Indonesia's G20 Presidency.
With assistance from the World Bank and WHO, the G20 forum formulated the Global Health Fund which is collaboration in fund collection to build global health system resilience.
"Beyond this, I expect that the G20 forum can become a facilitator for coordination in prevention and mitigation of various pandemic issues," he remarked.
