Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Central National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) collaborates with a South Korean company to improve the quality of sports facilities and infrastructure in the nation.

Central KONI Chairman Marciano Norman along with his staff received the material from the company's president, Yeong Bom Kim, at the Central KONI Office here on Monday.

"Improving the athletes' achievement cannot be achieved without the management of quality sports facilities. To this end, we welcome Kolon's presentation today," Norman remarked.

He deemed that improving facilities and infrastructure is important on account of the fact that Indonesia plans to become the host for the Olympics.

In order to hold the biggest sports event in the world, Indonesia must have world-class facilities, he remarked.

"As a result, the development is conducted gradually, so that in future, when Indonesia wins the bidding to become the Olympics host, the nation already has sports facilities and infrastructure of good quality," he explained.

Norman expects that one day, Indonesian athletes can try out all sports facilities that the company built in Korea as well as meet with athletes in all sports branches.

With this, Indonesian athletes can directly observe and provide suggestions to the party that will build the facilities and infrastructure in the nation.

Meanwhile, Kolon Glotech President Yeong Bom Kim claimed to have built several sports facilities and infrastructure in South Korea.

"Our experience will bring successful examples from Korea, from the operational system to facilities and infrastructure that we have proven in Korea to be able to help improve sports in Indonesia," he noted.

The company president also attended the inking of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Secretary General Ade Lukman Djajadikusuma representing Central KONI.
