These packages are expected to be able to help alleviate the people's burden, especially workers, considering the economic condition in Central Jakarta has not fully recovered due to the COVID-19 pandemic
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Workers Social Security Agency (BPJAMSOSTEK) took social action by distributing 660 packages containing basic necessities for workers in commemoration of May Day on May 1 that coincides with the Ramadhan month every year.

Head of the Jakarta Gambir BPJAMSOSTEK Branch Office Chairul Arianto noted in a statement on Tuesday that these packages were given to the Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Sub-Office.

The packages will then be distributed to workers through workers' unions in Central Jakarta.

"These packages are expected to be able to help alleviate the people's burden, especially workers, considering the economic condition in Central Jakarta has not fully recovered due to the COVID-19 pandemic," he remarked.

These packages comprise five kg of rice, one liter of cooking oil, and one kg of sugar.

The aid is a form of empathy by the agency and serves as an incentive for other institutions to collectively assist workers.

This aligns with the theme of May Day of Recovery with Indonesian workers, he stated.

It is expected that all of us can get through the pandemic together, so that the economy can recover and workers can get over difficult times, he stated.

Head of Central Jakarta's manpower office lauded the Jakarta Gambir BPJAMSOSTEK that participated in giving aid for this year's May Day activity.
