Bank Indonesia synergizes with the ministries and institutions to assist in exchanging new banknotesJakarta (ANTARA) - The Industry Ministry is collaborating with Bank Indonesia (BI) to help people exchange rupiah banknotes for the purpose of donations as the Ramadan month ends and Eid Al-Fitr approaches.
"The Ministry of Industry, together with Bank Indonesia, opens opportunities for the public, especially Industry Ministry employees, who want to exchange banknotes for the purposes of giving infaq and donating in the moments ahead of Eid al-Fitr," expert staff at the ministry Andi Rizaldi said here on Tuesday.
According to Rizaldi, the effort aligns with the government's policy of widening gathering opportunities for communities by easing exodus rules.
Exodus mobilization is projected to experience a significant increase this year, considering that in the past two years, people have not embarked on homecoming travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he said.
In addition to making it easier for Industry Ministry employees to obtain banknotes, the activity is also expected to encourage the improvement of economic activity, Rizaldi observed.
"With the pandemic situation getting under control, community activities are also gradually returning to normal situations. It is hoped that the national economic and industrial recovery will be achieved faster," he explained.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Industry Ministry played an active role in preventing and handling COVID-19 cases in the industrial sector, for instance, by issuing regulations regarding operational permits and industrial mobility activities for companies.
The measures taken by the ministry for tackling the spread of COVID-19 also comprised strict implementation of the health protocols in work environments, vaccination programs for industrial employees and sectors, and provision of centralized self-isolation facilities for employees and the community.
Meanwhile, Bank Indonesia's head of relations and public institutions, Puji Widodo, said the government has distributed Eid allowance or THR for state civil apparatus (ASN) for 2022.
"Bank Indonesia synergizes with the ministries and institutions to assist in exchanging new banknotes," Widodo added.
