While we have received no information about the (assistance withdrawal) for shelter tents because the fire victims still need the tents, we are ready to stop the food assistance distribution from tomorrowJakarta (ANTARA) - The provision of food assistance to victims of the Gembrong Market fire in Cipinang Besar Utara, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, is expected to end on Thursday (May 5, 2022), an official informed on Wednesday.
Head of the East Jakarta Social Office's social protection and management of the poor department Ridwan said that the office will withdraw the assistance if the Cipinang Besar Utara authority does not request an extension.
"We will end the food assistance distribution on May 5. We will offer no further assistance unless the (Cipinang Besar Utara) authority requests another assistance," he added.

The withdrawal of food assistance is in line with the timetable set by the local authority, he said adding that his office is yet to receive any request to extend the assistance.
"While we have received no information about the (assistance withdrawal) for shelter tents because the fire victims still need the tents, we are ready to stop the food assistance distribution from tomorrow," the municipal office head said here.
Starting April 25, the authority supplied the assistance until April 27 and, upon a request from the local authority, extended it by two days till April 29, he added.
After further extension till May 1, the latest assistance distribution extension, which was requested by the Cipinang Besar Utara region head, will continue until May 5, Ridwan informed.

The office head said that besides food assistance, the East Jakarta municipal Social Affairs Office will also distribute clothes, shoes, and bags for children.
"Because we have no space to store the clothes, we are temporarily storing (clothes assistance) at the Social Affairs Office. We will distribute the clothes assistance, particularly (assistance) for school pupils, at the right moment," he added.
