When we work together as one, the sky is our only limit.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah encourages entire delegations of G20 member nations to gotong royong, or collaborate, in order to recover global manpower conditions affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Gotong royong, or harmonic collaboration, is very important for us to formulate a comprehensive policy approach and goal to effectively handle problems," she noted in a statement of the 2nd EWG Meeting on Wednesday.

G20 is an international forum comprising 19 nations that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia is chairing the forum this year.

EWG is a G20 working group under the Sherpa Track that has been mandated to broker joint commitments on promoting employment and decent workplaces to encourage sustainable, equitable, and inclusive economic growth.

"When we work together as one, the sky is our only limit," the minister remarked.

With gotong royong and harmonic cooperation, we can achieve the goals that we aim for more quickly and effectively, she affirmed.

Gotong royong -- Gotong meaning work and royong meaning together -- is one of Indonesia's philosophical values.

The value of gotong royong has deeply embedded itself within Indonesia's ideology and become the foundation of Indonesians' solidarity.

This value is highly relevant to answer various existing problems, including in the manpower sector.

Moreover, as a renowned international economic cooperation forum, it becomes more important for G20 members, invited nations, and international groups to cooperate and collaborate in a multilateral spirit to resolve global challenges, Fauziyah noted.

"Creating a supportive international environment necessitates harmonic cooperation," she remarked.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Manpower held a bilateral meeting with the United States delegations to discuss cooperation concerning internship on the sidelines of the second EWG meeting in Yogyakarta.
