Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry cooperated with a voice talent education institution to hold a Wonder Voice Over Camp on May 14-15, 2022, at Spacebar Audio Production and Cut2cut Audio Production, here.

"This voice-over, I think, is a unique and very interesting profession," Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno remarked in his statement on Monday.

Voice-over is a new profession that has emerged amid societal developments and enriches professions in the creative industry in addition to YouTuber and influencer, he remarked.

This profession is suitable to express Indonesia's beauty as an audio-visual promotion product that can provide comfort to the people and draw their interest to visit tourism destinations, he opined.

Wonder Voice Over Camp is part of the Voice of Indonesia Program to raise the people's awareness of Indonesia's five super priority tourism destinations: Borobudur, Lake Toba, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, and Likupang.

Some 10 people were chosen in the Wonder Voice Over Camp, and they participated in a variety of interesting activities to hone and improve their capabilities and competence.

These activities include a bootcamp, take voice-over simulation, audio production, networking to audiopost, and voice-over sample production.

In addition to the Wonder Voice Over Camp, two other activities -- Wonder Voice Over Challenge and Wonder Voice from Home -- were held.

The former involved voice-over for one of the five super priority destination videos, while the latter was for an online class that featured materials that cover basic voice-over skill and voice intonation.

"This type of work is not common, but it is very necessary. I believe that this profession will be the hope and future of Indonesians that can open business opportunities and create jobs," Uno remarked.

"To this end, the government will continue to assist to ensure that the proposed programs can be accurate, beneficial, and be held on time," he stated.

Voice Institute Indonesia's Founder Bimo Kusumo Yudho thanked the ministry that had cooperated with his institution in holding the Wonder Voice of Indonesia. He pointed to the high level of the participants' enthusiasm in this activity.

"Our target at the start was only 500 submissions, but beyond our expectation, 5,900 people registered," he noted.

This means that Indonesians are aware and willing to support the government's program to promote five super priority destinations with a different method, specifically voice-over, he remarked.

Yudho also felt grateful for the Wonder Voice of Indonesia, as he became more aware of the presence of talented people in Indonesia.

"They exist not only in Jakarta alone but also in regions. Many of them have good talent," he remarked.
