Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) is planning to pay 50 percent of its last year's net profit as dividend this year.

The plan to distribute the dividend, amounting to Rp930.87 billion, has been agreed upon at the general meeting of the company's shareholders, PT Antam corporate secretary Syarif Faisal Alkadrie said in Jakarta on Tuesday.



The residual dividend, amounting to Rp930.87 billion, will be treated as profit balance, he informed.

PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Persero) is currently PT Antam's largest shareholder, holding 15.61 billion shares or 65 percent of the total shares, while the public holds 8.41 billion shares or 35 percent of the total shares.

PT Antam posted a net profit of Rp1.86 trillion last year compared to Rp1.14 trillion the previous year.


The positive performance was inseparable from the company's innovations in production and sales focusing on increasing added value of products, optimizing production, and implementing strategic policies to manage costs effectively and efficiently.



By implementing best business practices, the company managed to increase sales by 40 percent to Rp38.44 trillion in 2021 compared to Rp27.37 trillion a year earlier.
