Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry and the Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Ministry are helping creative economy actors promote their products at the 7th Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR).

The products are being showcased through a planogram installation at the Art Building Bali Collection, Bali province, from May 23–28, 2022.

"There are 140 creative economy players who have been selected from the initial 500 economy players who are ready to showcase their products,” Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno informed in a statement issued here on Wednesday.

The planogram display is located approximately 500 meters (m) from the main venue of the 7th Session of the GPDRR, he said.

The planogram features the posters of all selected products and their barcodes to direct visitors to the sellers’ online store.

The planogram also features informational videos regarding Indonesian creative products and how to buy them.

There are three creative economy sub-sectors that are being promoted via the planogram, namely fashion, craft, and culinary, the minister noted.

Later, delegates attending the international event will be able to visit the workshops producing several of the handicrafts to directly see their production process and buy products, he said.

The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry has also readied two tour packages for the participants of the 7th Session of the GPDRR.

The first is a free tour package for 600 people, who will get to see the application of local wisdom in dealing with disasters at various destinations throughout the province.

Meanwhile, the second is a paid tour package which is being offered in collaboration with local travel agents so that the international event can also benefit Balinese tourism actors.

"We have also involved tourism and creative economy actors to succeed the 7th Session of the GPDRR, thus the event will also have a positive impact on the economic revival in the tourism and creative economy sectors," Uno added.
