Davos, Swiss (ANTARA) - A number of foreign companies expressed their interest in developing 4G and 5G networks in Indonesia during the World Economic Forum Country Strategic Dialogue, Communication and Informatics Minister Johnny G. Plate informed on Wednesday.

Indonesia's business partners who attended the event also expressed an interest in taking part in Indonesia's policy and grand plan for transitioning to sustainable energy and digital transformation.

"I believe that this World Economic Forum has many benefits in promoting Indonesia as a very investment-friendly country," he told the media after the meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday.

Investors' interest has also been bolstered by Indonesia's economic growth of 5.01 percent in the first quarter of 2022.

The potential of Indonesia's digital economy, valued at around US$315 billion, has also attracted investors' interest.

Investors have also expressed their support for financing the country's infrastructure, specifically green infrastructure, and the development of Indonesia's digital talents.

Moreover, Plate informed that he, along with Trade Minister M. Lutfi, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arifin Tasrif, also met with WEF CEO Klaus Schwab.

They discussed issues related to the G20 agenda and Indonesia's push for a more inclusive global architecture, digital transformation, specifically digital economy, and energy transition.

The strategic dialogue was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, and Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang. It covered topics related to sustainable energy to support the industry and digital transformation.

During the 2022 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting (WEFAM), Hartarto outlined the concrete steps taken by Indonesian to realize a fair and affordable energy transition.

This commitment is being realized through various concrete and innovative steps, he informed.
