Badung. Bali (ANTARA) - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force ensured that the 15 COVID-19-positive participants of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) event have been handled appropriately.

Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Wiku Adisasmito at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) confirmed here on Friday that the 15 people were currently undergoing quarantine in their respective accommodations.

"All those identified people are isolated in the hotel (where they are staying) and are always monitored by the task force, including by the Bali Provincial Health Office, and tracing is conducted, so that we know their condition is relatively good," he expounded.

Moreover, Adisasmito ensured that the 15 people did not infect those gathered at the GPDRR event. According to the spokesperson, the figure of confirmed positive people is very small as compared to the thousands of offline attendees.

Adisasmito also ensured that participants, who had interacted with the people exposed to COVID-19, were screened and tested, in which the results could be directly verified digitally within the area of the GPDRR event.

The 15 COVID-19-positive people are also reportedly not showing symptoms.

He ensured that the GPDRR participants exposed to COVID-19 would be able to travel safely to their countries later.

"The Task Force, in collaboration with the Bali Provincial Health Office and the Ministry of Health, is ensuring that people, who tested positive for COVID-19, will be provided with a post-recovery certificate, so that they can return to their respective countries," he explained.

Earlier, during an interaction with the media on Thursday (May 26, 2022), Head of the COVID-19 Task Force, Suharyanto, stated that 15 GPDRR participants had tested positive for COVID-19, of which three people were from Indonesia, while the rest were from abroad.

It was ensured that those exposed to the virus did not enter the BNDCC area and immediately underwent quarantine at the hotel where they were staying.
