We hope that the delegates can enjoy the special architectural design of the village as the buildings have particular structures, functions, and ornaments, which have been used for generations.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Penglipuran Tourism Village in Bangli district, Bali, is among the destinations included in the free tour package for delegates attending the 7th Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR).

"The delegates of the 7th Session of the GPDRR will see houses with earthquake-resistant architecture (in the village),” Deputy Minister for Tourism and Creative Economy, Angela Tanoesudibjo, said while reviewing the tourism attraction, according to an official statement received here on Thursday.

The tourism village, which is working to preserve its culture and traditions as well as prioritize environmental conservation, is known as one of the cleanest villages in the world.

The village won the Kalpataru award (an achievement given to governments, institutions, or individuals for helping conserve the environment in Indonesia) in 1995 and the Indonesia Sustainable Tourism Award (ISTA) in 2017.

It was also included in the Green Destinations Foundation’s Top 100 Sustainable Destinations.

"Hence, the village has been included as one of the destinations of the free field trip program facilitated by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry," the deputy minister informed.

Applying the Tri Mandala concept, the village’s spatial layout is divided into three areas, namely Utama Mandala, Madya Mandala, and Nista Mandala.

The Utama Mandala is the main area of the village. It is located in the northern part of the village and houses a place of worship.

The middle zone is called Madya Mandala, which comprises a residential area built along the main road.

Meanwhile, the southernmost region is Nista Mandala, which serves as a cemetery for residents.

"We hope that the delegates can enjoy the special architectural design of the village as the buildings have particular structures, functions, and ornaments, which have been used for generations," Tanoesudibjo added.
