Medan BMKG (BBMKG) Region I forecaster Endah Paramita stated here on Thursday that the three hotspots were detected from the MODIS sensor monitoring via the Tera, Aqua, SNPP and NOAA20 satellites.
The three hotspots comprised two hotspots in Pagar Merbau Sub-District and Deli Serdang District, as well as one hotspot in Hutaraja Tinggi Sub-District of Padang Lawas District.
Meanwhile, the weather was observed to be cloudy on Thursday afternoon, with light rainfall expected in the Deli Serdang, Binjai, Serdang Bedagai, Simalungun, Pematang Siantar, Samosir, Toba, Asahan, Tanjung Balai, Labuhanbatu, South Labuhanbatu and North Labuhanbatu areas.
Hence, moderate rainfall at night is forecast throughout North Sumatra and its surroundings, while most areas in North Sumatra are expected to experience cloudy weather in the early hours.
In the meantime, the air temperature was recorded at 17-33 degrees Celsius, with air humidity of 60-98 percent, and winds blowing from the Southwest-Northwest, at a speed of 10-30 km per hour.
