Jakarta (ANTARA) - Interpol is set to withdraw its Yellow Notice for Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz (Eril), West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil’s son, following the retrieval of his body from Engehalde Dam, Aare River, Bern, Switzerland, police said.

"When the body is found, the Central Interpol NCB Lyon (France) will inform and close the Yellow Notice," head of the public relations division of the National Police (Polri), Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, informed on Friday.



The technical closure of the Yellow Notice by NCB Interpol, Lyon, France, follows the finding of the subject's report, he added.



Polri had been proactively monitoring the search for Eril, who was reported to have drowned in Aare River, Switzerland, on May 26, 2022.



NCB Interpol Polri had submitted a Yellow Notice request for assistance in the search for Eril. The official Yellow Notice was issued and distributed to all Interpol members on June 1.

The Yellow Notice contained Eril's personal data, as well as the names of his parents, physical characteristics, and the color of the clothes he was wearing at the time he went missing.



On Wednesday (June 8), Switzerland Police released information that an Indonesian citizen’s (WNI's) body had been found trapped in Engehalde Dam, Switzerland.



Forensic and DNA tests confirmed that the body was 22-year-old Eril’s.



Ridwan Kamil's wife, Atalia, confirmed that her son's body had been found by uploading the news on her Instagram page.

"Praise God, his DNA matched with mine," she wrote on June 9.



Meanwhile, Governor Kamil said the body of his eldest son will be returned to Indonesia on June 12 and buried on June 13 in Bandung, West Java.


A release published by Bern Police on June 9 said that on June 8 morning, a man’s body had been found in Engehalde Dam, Bern. The body, which was later confirmed to be that of Eril, was immediately retrieved by local authorities.

Eril had gone missing while swimming in Aare River. According to a local police statement, he had experienced an emergency situation while swimming in the river.
