Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Police officers will assist in the process of transporting the body of West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil's late son, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, upon arrival to Indonesia, Police's Public Resource Division official stated.

The Public Resource Division's Public Information Department head, Senior Commissioner Gatot Repli Handoko, remarked that the police will escort Mumtadz' entourage from the airport to the funeral home and until the conclusion of the funeral ceremony.

"The police will provide a backup (for the transport process) by an escort from the airport to the funeral home," Handoko told ANTARA here on Saturday.

He said that West Java Police will conduct the escort on Sunday (Jun 12), as Mumtadz's body is expected to arrive in Indonesia that day at 10 a.m. local time (UTC +7).

The officer revealed that Mumtadz's body would be first transported to West Java Governor's official residence, Gedung Pakuan, before the funeral process planned on Monday (Jun 13) morning.

"(Mumtadz's body) will arrive tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time, and we will then escort the body to Gedung Pakuan. The funeral will take place on Monday morning in Cimaung, Bandung District, at a location close to the governor's personal residence," Handoko expounded.

He noted that the police, despite not having received any request from the family for the assistance, took the initiative to assist Kamil's kin to demonstrate the government's presence in assisting residents facing difficulties.

"Even without any request, the police will provide the back-up," the senior commissioner affirmed.

Polri had been proactively monitoring the search for Mumtadz, who was reported to have drowned in Aare River, Switzerland, on May 26, 2022.

The National Central Bureau (NCB) of the Indonesian Police's Interpol had submitted a Yellow Notice request for assistance in the search for Mumtadz. The official Yellow Notice was issued and distributed to all Interpol members on June 1.

Following the retrieval of Mumtadz's body, found in Engehalde Dam, Bern, on Wednesday (Jun 8), the Interpol is set to withdraw the Yellow Notice after the finding of the subject's report is received.
