The implementation of SPPT-TI is already in accordance with President's mandate to strengthen corruption eradication system, because corruption is an extraordinary crime and anyone who does it is the enemy of the country
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) deems the digitalization of the justice system through the Information Technology-based Integrated Criminal Justice System (SPPT-TI) as being a game changer in a better direction in corruption eradication.

In a written statement on Wednesday, KSP's Deputy V Jaleswari Pramodhawardani explained that SPPT-TI is created to ensure interoperability or data exchange between law enforcement authorities in the handling of criminal cases.

"The expansion of this system's implementation is expected to become a game changer in conducting system reformation and law enforcement that are corruption-free, accountable, and trusted," she explained.

SPPT-TI is an electronic exchange of criminal case data between four law enforcement institutions: Police, Attorney General's Office, the court, and Correctional Directorate General at the Law and Human Rights Ministry.

The exchanged data includes the suspect's identity, court schedule, court decision, and detention history.

In addition, the SPPT-TI digitalizes the current case handling process that was mostly still based on physical document in a secure network system.

"This shows the strong commitment from President Joko Widodo - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's government in eradicating corruption," Pramodhawardani remarked.

This information technology-based system utilizes the Data Exchange Center (Puskarda) network within the Intra-Government Secured Network (IGSN). The IGSN network is provided and managed by KSP.

"The implementation of SPPT-TI is already in accordance with the president's mandate to strengthen the corruption eradication system, because corruption is an extraordinary crime and anyone who does it is the enemy of the country," she emphasized.

"All government officials, especially law enforcement authorities, should strengthen their commitment in the efforts to eradicate corruption," she affirmed.

Moreover, the government is committed to expanding the development and implementation of SPPT-TI.

Currently, it only encompasses more than 200 work units in law enforcement institutions across Indonesia, with the total data received by Puskarda standing at 826 thousand that was exchanged until 2021.
