"Some 30 percent of them (beneficiaries) are now employed, 70 percent used the incentive for business capital, and 89 percent improved (their) competency (through the program)," he expounded.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Presidential Staff Office's (KSP's) Main Expert, Edy Priyono, affirmed that the Pre-Employment Card Program would continue to be refined to proffer real benefits to the right target beneficiaries.

Priyono, in a written statement received here on Saturday, noted that the program had offered three benefits in the form of alleviating unemployment, providing incentives for business capital, and increasing competence, competitiveness, productivity, and entrepreneurship, based on the program's evaluation survey during the 2020-2021 period.

Since being launched in 2020, the Pre-Employment Card Program has reached 12.8 million beneficiaries out of the 115 million people, who registered.

"Some 30 percent of them (beneficiaries) are now employed, 70 percent used the incentive for business capital, and 89 percent improved (their) competency (through the program)," he expounded.

According to Priyono, on account of the benefits offered by the program, President Joko Widodo has called for continuous improvement and assistance, so that the program can offer a broader impact.

According to the KSP main expert, the achievements reflected that the Pre-Employment Card Program had been implemented in accordance with the regulations.

The implementation of the Pre-Employment Card Program is regulated by three regulations: Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 76 of 2020, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Regulation Number 3 of 2020 concerning Development of Work Competencies through the Pre-Employment Card Program, as well as Minister of Finance Regulation Number 35 of 2020 concerning Procedures for Allocating, Budgeting, Disbursement, and Accountability of Pre-Employment Card Funds.

Earlier, on Friday, June 17, 2022, a gathering event of the Pre-Employment Card Program beneficiaries was held, with around eight thousand beneficiaries of the program attending the event.

The event was also attended by President Joko Widodo, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah, and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil. (INE)
