Ridwan Kamil encouraged West Java's residents to master digital culture regarding transition for use of the PeduliLindungi application to purchase the People's Bulk Cooking Oil (MGCR) that began on Monday.
Every disruption that occurs in the world cannot be avoided. Thus, the key is to have residents master digital culture, he remarked at the Merdeka Building here on Tuesday.
"This will likely happen to all products starting from cooking oil to fuel oil and other goods," he noted.
Kamil urged residents to train themselves in using electronic devices in their daily lives, so that they are not taken aback in the event of the government policy that mandates the involvement of digital culture.

Concerning the government's policy on PeduliLindungi utilization within the bulk cooking oil purchasing system, the West Java provincial government is ready to execute and evaluate the policy, he remarked.
The provincial government will strive to execute the policy in accordance with the instruction and find solutions in the event of a problem during implementation, he stated.
The West Java provincial government is also optimistic that bulk cooking oil purchase through the PeduliLindungi trial in West Java would be successful, as it is related to the success of COVID-19 vaccination.

This is because vaccination had already reached a population of more than 80 million as recorded within PeduliLindungi, which means most of West Java's residents are already safe, the governor noted.
In addition, utilization of the PeduliLindungi application to purchase cooking oil is expected to prevent hoarding.
Earlier, on Friday, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan stated that the use of the PeduliLindungi application will help in monitoring and supervision to mitigate fraud in various places that could lead to scarcity and the soaring price of bulk cooking oil.
