"Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD will be at the Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry to perform funeral prayers at the Quba Mosque at the Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry. After that, he will give a send-off with full military honors to the (body of) late Tjahjo Kumolo to the Kalibata National Main Heroes Cemetery," the public relations of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs noted in a written statement received here on Friday.
The sad news was confirmed by Secretary of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry Rini Widyantini. He announced that minister Kumolo had passed away at the Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Friday at 11:10 local time.
Kumolo had undergone intensive treatment at the hospital since mid-June.
"The minister has been called by God today at 11:10 a.m. local time. We ask for prayers from you and your colleagues. May he be accepted upon His side," Widyantini noted in a written statement.

Kumolo's eldest daughter, Rahajeng Widyaswari, said that the extended family planned to bury her father at the Kalibata National Main Heroes Cemetery.
The minister's body would be bathed at the Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry Official Residence, and funeral prayers would be conducted at the ministry's mosque in Jakarta.
Before serving as the administrative reform and bureaucratic reform minister since October 23, 2019, Kumolo was selected as member of the House of Representatives for the 2009-2014 period.
While serving in the House of Representatives, he also held the position of secretary general of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle during the 2010-2015 period.
He was also entrusted with the seat of the home affairs minister in the Working Cabinet from October 27, 2014, to October 20, 2019. Thereafter, he was briefly tasked with serving as the acting minister of Law and Human Rights from October 1 to October 20, 2019.
