The concept is ready, we just have to waiJakarta (ANTARA) - The government is currently preparing a presidential instruction (inpres) to accelerate the use of electric vehicles, especially in the government territory, Chief of Presidential Staff (KSP) Moeldoko has said.
“Currently, the government is preparing a presidential instruction to accelerate the use of electric cars, especially in the government territory. We will require the use of electric cars," he informed after a press conference on the 2022 Perikliindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) in Jakarta on Monday.
Through the presidential instruction, the use of electric vehicles in government territory would be carried out in stages, he said.

"The concept is ready, we just have to wait," Moeldoko added.
The acceleration of electric vehicle utilization is part of the government's effort to realize the mandate of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 55 of 2019 concerning the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle Program for Road Transportation, he said.
The government is also targeting to increase new and renewable energy share by as much as 23 percent in the national energy mix by 2025, and boost it further to 31 percent by 2050.
Moeldoko then invited electric vehicle manufacturers to participate in efforts to achieve this target, including by participating in the 2022 Perikliindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) from July 22–31, 2022, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

According to him, the 2022 PEVS can become a momentum for electric vehicle manufacturers to make a big leap.
"I think this could be their momentum to grab opportunities. We will be left behind if we still play conventionally. This is a very good momentum for those who can grasp the situation," he emphasized.
He added that Indonesia also has a big opportunity to create a domestic electric vehicle brand.
"If the electric vehicle can last long, Indonesia can 100 percent use it in the future," he remarked.
