Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Armed Forces (TNI) Commander General Andika Perkasa, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and their counterparts from the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, and Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment are continuing to finalize preparations at G20 summit venues.

"The TNI has planned in detail and thoroughly all aspects related to the implementation of the G20 (summit),” TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa, said in a statement broadcast on a YouTube channel in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He delivered the statement after reviewing the readiness of the Pemongan Mangrove Forest Park in Denpasar Bali and Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park in Badung, which will host G20 delegates.

The review was intended to ensure that the G20 agenda takes place safely and comfortably for the heads of state and guests.

In his presentation, he said that TNI has prepared a number of plans, starting from the security aspect to the rotational flow of transportation for the heads of state.

The plans start from the hotel where the delegates will stay to the venues for activities, such as the Pemogan Mangrove Forest Park and Wisnu Kencana Park.

He said he expected G20 activities in 2022 to run well and leave a positive impression on state guests.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan had earlier called for all G20 Summit preparations to be completed by October 2022.

He made the statement on June 8 after reviewing the venue for the summit, which will be hosted in November in Bali.

"I seek collective cooperation to manage this event. I request for the (preparation of) G20 to be completed by the third or fourth of October. Everyone has to be involved and work hand-in-hand," the minister remarked.

Pandjaitan reviewed the progress of work on the renewed Ngurah Rai Airport VVIP Terminal that will function as an aircraft parking lot and serve high-ranking state officials arriving for the G20 summit.

"Several developments are already underway, those being of the VVIP lounge terminal, beautification of the existing VVIP building, as well as beautification and revitalization of the airport terminal," he informed.

The minister also urged the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry to promptly complete the construction of the Ngurah Rai Airport VVIP Terminal so that the building can be made operational by September 2022 at the earliest.

"We are trying to catch up (with the progress in development) for the construction of the entire VVIP Terminal since it is only a matter of time for future state officials to arrive," he said.
