Jakarta (ANTARA) - Program and target accuracy became the key aspects to expedite stunting reduction, National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Head Hasto Wardoyo stated after the coordination meeting of the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team (TPPS).

To this end, the BKKBN, as head of the central level TPPS, continues to coordinate, synchronize, and integrate stunting reduction acceleration activities and programs with all related parties, he noted here on Thursday.

The agency expects that coordination between ministries or institutions and other related parties will continue to proceed smoothly, and the programs will be accurate, he remarked.

The stunting reduction acceleration program aims to realize healthy, smart, and productive human resources and support the realization of sustainable development goals, he noted.

To this end, efforts to expedite stunting reduction are made in a holistic and integrative manner through coordination, synergy, and synchronization among all related parties.

Wardoyo also drew attention to the five pillars within the Stunting Reduction Acceleration National Strategy as stipulated in Presidential Regulation No. 72 of 2021 on Stunting Reduction Acceleration.

"First, bolstering leadership commitment and vision in ministries or institutions as well as regional governments," he noted.

The second pillar involves improving behavioral change communication and people's empowerment. The third concerns bolstering the convergence of specific and sensitive interventions in ministries or institutions and regional governments.

The fourth pillar revolves around strengthening food and nutritional resilience at the individual, family, and community level to expedite stunting reduction.

"Meanwhile, the fifth pillar is about strengthening and developing system, data, information, research, and also innovation," Wardoyo noted.

The BKKBN continues to push the implementation of the five pillars within the Stunting Reduction Acceleration National Strategy, so that it can run well in accordance with the targets and expectations.
