With a comprehensive and continuously strengthened protection system, it is hoped that the implementation of child protection would be more integrated, coordinated, comprehensive, and systemicJakarta (ANTARA) - National Children's Day is the right momentum to strengthen the child protection system to support the fulfilment of children's rights, the National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA) stated.
"National Children's Day, which is celebrated every July 23, is the right momentum to strengthen the child protection system as a form of protection for Indonesian children," Komnas PA Chairman Arist Merdeka Sirait noted when contacted here on Saturday.
Sirait highlighted that currently, Indonesia already has in place various regulations to protect Indonesian children. However, he affirmed that the protection system must continue to be bolstered in order to provide comprehensive protection.

Moreover, it is expected to support children to grow well and safe from all acts of violence, neglect, exploitation, or other mistreatments in order to create a golden, quality, noble, and prosperous generation.
The protection system is also expected to identify the root cause of problems if acts of violence, exploitation, neglect, and other mistreatments occur.
He noted that the child protection system comprised the social welfare system for children and families, behavior change system, data and information system, justice system, and legal and policy frameworks that are interrelated and work in an integrated manner to achieve child protection goals.

"The system components include primary, secondary, and tertiary services," he stated.
One example of primary services is the harmonization of legal products that aims to strengthen the capacity of the community to nurture children and ensure their welfare.
In terms of secondary services, one of the examples is identification or early detection of children, who are vulnerable to violence, exploitation, abuse, and neglect.
One example of tertiary services is identifying and receiving complaints or reports.
