One of the focuses of tourism (here) is to study about the birth of Pancasila and state-based tourism
Labuan Bajo, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will introduce a special travel trail tracing the history of the development of the national ideology, Pancasila, in Ende district, East Nusa Tenggara.



"One of the focuses of tourism (here) is to study about the birth of Pancasila and state-based tourism," Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno informed here on Friday.



The development of integrated tourism and creative economy in Ende district is intended to be a part of Labuan Bajo's grand travel pattern, Uno said, adding that Ende is not only the gate to Lake Kelimutu but also a historical site of the birth of Pancasila.

On the travel trail, tourists will be introduced to the history of Soekarno's contemplation of the nation’s foundational principle after independence, which he crystallized in the form of Pancasila.



The ministry is committed to collaborating with other stakeholders to bolster the tourism sector in Ende, particularly by enhancing local tourism villages, Uno said.



The ministry, through the Executive Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF), is using two branding concepts to promote Ende as the “home” of the Pancasila and Kelimutu Geopark, he added.



Meanwhile, president director of BPOLBP, Shana Fatina, said that concerning the development of Ende as the “Home of Pancasila,” the authority has planned improvement projects at various historical places relevant to the birth of Pancasila.

The planned project will include the improvement of Bung Karno Contemplation Park, Kota Raja Beach, Bung Karno's exile home, Soekarno Corner in Ende Cathedral, and other places, which will be part of the Bung Karno historical trail in the region, she informed.



"A special trail on historical and ideological tourism (introducing) our national foundation and pride will be developed," Fatina said.



The travel trail for Ende district is planned to be a 3-day 2-night tour, she added.



Besides the travel route development, BPOLBP has also implemented various tourism development strategies, which include coordination to synergize the program and residents' empowerment, the president director said.



The authority is targeting to attract 200 thousand tourists to Ende district annually, she added.
