Mekkah (ANTARA) - The return of the first batch of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims through King Abdulaziz International Airport in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will be completed on Saturday (July 30, 2022).

"The return of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims for the first batch is almost complete. Our last two flight groups depart from Mecca this afternoon to the airport in Jeddah. They are scheduled to fly on Saturday morning," head of the Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) for the Mecca Work Area, Mukhammad Khanif, informed in Mecca on Friday.

The last Hajj group—flight group (cluster) 23 for the Jakarta-Pondok Gede Embarkation (JKG 23) and flight group 21 for the Jakarta-Bekasi Embarkation (JKS 21)—will return to Indonesia via King Abdulaziz International Airport, Khanif said.

Pilgrims in the JKG 23 group are scheduled to take a Garuda Indonesia aircraft at 1.15 a.m. Saudi Arabian time (WAS) on Saturday, and the JKS 21 group will be flown on a Saudi Airlines aircraft at 2.50 a.m. WAS on Saturday.

The first batch of pilgrims departed from the country to Amir Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina city and has returned via King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah city, Khanif said.

Meanwhile, the second batch of pilgrims departed from the country for King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah city and will return from Amir Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina city, he added.

Khanif informed that PPIH Mecca Work Area has gradually dispatched the second batch of pilgrims from Mecca to Medina since July 21.

As of Friday, 29,413 pilgrims in 74 groups have departed from Mecca to Medina.

"The departure of pilgrims to Medina will end on August 4, 2022," he said.

After their Hajj worship, the second batch of pilgrims has departed from Mecca to Medina. They will perform worship at the Nabawi Mosque and make a pilgrimage for eight to nine days in Medina before returning to the country.
