"There are 77 participants, and this is to enliven the (commemoration of) Independence Day of Indonesia as well as Bali Province. The route goes around Denpasar City, not far, because students bring decorated bicycles," Endradatta, the organizer staff, remarked.
Endradatta noted that the decorated bicycle parade and the competition to adorn the bicycles were held to instill a spirit of nationalism among elementary and junior high school students as members of the young generation, who are considered to be the roots of the nation's strength.
On Sunday, August 14, the bicycle community Endradatta will hold a night ride using old bicycles.

This bicycle community held a parade as a form of interpreting independence, especially for students, with future plans to be implemented again through the momentum offered through the Independence Day commemoration.
"It is very important for these kids to interpret independence, so that they really understand that it is not easy to gain independence. With this parade, children get to hone their creativity, get accustomed to cycling, and love the environment," he affirmed.

Students participated in the morning parade through a route going around Denpasar City, starting from the Puputan Badung field to Hassanudin Street, Thamrin Street, Gajah Mada Street, and to the front of the Bali Museum.
Bayu Sanjaya, 10, a fifth-grade student from SDN 28 Dangin Puri, who participated in the parade, said he was happy.
"Yesterday, (I) decorated (the bike) with flag, corn paper, ribbon, and Balinese webbing. This is my first time, so I am happy. I want it to be held again next year because it is rare and entertaining," Sanjaya stated.
