The border or 3T areas, namely the outermost, underdeveloped, and frontier areas, become the agency's major concern in making the people there prosper.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Alms Agency (Baznas) collaborates with the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) and National Defense Force (TNI) to help eradicate poverty in the country's borders through various empowerment programs.

"Poverty eradication program is one of the government's priority agendas, including the people in border areas," Head of Baznas Noor Achmad noted through his written message on Saturday.

Various economic-based programs will be rolled out by Baznas in the nation's borders, including in the 3T areas, or outermost, underdeveloped, and frontier areas.

These programs include the development of an integrated economic ecosystem that comprises the economic empowerment of village and MSMEs, and the development of an integrated health ecosystem encompassing health curative and promotional service.

The agency also synergizes to create one thousand new muzaki, or people obliged to pay alms, in the sub-district of the country's border areas with extreme poverty.

"The border or 3T areas, namely the outermost, underdeveloped, and frontier areas, become the agency's major concern in making the people there prosper," Achmad remarked.

Earlier, Baznas also actively helped the people in border areas through economic empowerment programs, including through the Zakat Community Development (ZCD).

The program's source of funding comes from various social religious funds, such as zakat, or alms; infaq, or disbursement; and sedekah, or simple alms.

"Earlier, Baznas had directly departed to help the people in border areas, such as through the sea ambulance program in Tanjung Balai Karimun Island, Riau Islands," he remarked.

"In future, Baznas will also construct the Baznas Health House in Miangas Island, Talaud, North Sulawesi," he remarked.
