Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to review the distribution of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) as a diversion from subsidies for fuel (BBM) at the post office in Bandarlampung on Saturday.

Based on an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat, President Jokowi will also hand over other social assistance to beneficiaries.

Moreover, Jokowi is scheduled to greet and hand over working capital assistance and other forms of social assistance to traders and street vendors at Pasir Gintung Market, Bandarlampung.

On Saturday afternoon, Jokowi and First Lady Iriana are scheduled to return to Jakarta aboard the Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft from Radin Inten II International Airport.

During the visit to Bandarlampung, the president was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Minister of Investment as well as Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia.

Fuel cash aid is one of the social assistance packages after diverting fuel subsidies. The government has budgeted for social assistance diverted from fuel subsidies amounting to Rp24.17 trillion.

In addition, during a limited meeting on Monday, the government agreed on two other forms of social assistance to be diverted from fuel subsidies, including wage subsidy assistance of Rp600 thousand to 16 million workers, with a maximum salary of Rp3.5 million per month.

The other is assistance from local governments using two percent of the general transfer funds, such as General Allocation Fund and Revenue Sharing Fund of Rp2.17 trillion, in order to help the transportation sector, covering public transportation and motorcycle taxis as well as fishermen and additional social protection assistance.
