The Communication and Information Ministry is pursuing the development of eastern Indonesia, in line with President Joko Widodo's instructions, by encouraging micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt digital technology.
"With a higher level of digital technology application, the competitiveness of MSMEs will also be higher," director of digital economy at the ministry, I Nyoman Adhiarna, said during an event on MSME digitalization for increasing marketing access, in Ternate, North Maluku, according to an official statement received on Saturday.
At the event, several experts spoke about the use of digital applications. Adhiarna said the participants were very enthusiastic about adopting new technology.
He further said he believes that if MSMEs across regions show the same degree of enthusiasm as Ternate, then they would grow faster and develop beyond the government's estimates.
"Of course, this is a (motivation) for the Directorate of Digital Economy to make better and more appropriate programs to assist MSMEs," he added.
One of the experts who participated in the event was chief operating officer of Qasir, Hadwin Rarumangkay. Qasir, as an application for bookkeeping and cash recording for MSMEs, was deliberately designed to be user-friendly, easy to learn and use, and made available at very affordable prices for MSMEs (only Rp1 thousand per day), Rarumangkay said.0said.0psaid.0p
