"Every village will be helped by regional BPS to ensure the quality of the data," he informed during the "Assisting in Social Protection System Reformation" webinar on Wednesday.
BPS has conducted an assessment in several regions whose village infrastructure is ready for updating data when the Regsosek program is implemented.
"Lastly, we visited Sumedang (West Java), which shows that its village infrastructure and village authorities there are ready to conduct the update," Yuwono informed.
In addition to Sumedang, villages in Jembrana (Bali), Prabumulih (South Sumatra), and Padang Panjang (West Sumatra) are also ready to carry out the data update.
“BPS (offices) in provinces and cities are expected to collaborate so that the update process can be developed and agreed upon and the stored data becomes one national data, which will be used collectively," he noted.
Yuwono said he believes that government programs will be made more effective through data integration under the Regsosek Program. The Regsosek data has also been integrated with citizens' identity card numbers (NIK).
Participation from various parties is also necessary to raise people's awareness about the process that the government will follow for data collection, which is expected to be successful, he said.
Social Economic Registration, or Regsosek, is a data collecting activity undertaken by the BPS for all Indonesians, which covers diverse social and economic conditions and profiles.
It includes demographic, housing, disabilities, asset ownership, and geospatial information. Up-to-date and accurate population data is expected to be obtained through the data collection program.
Data from Regsosek will be used together across ministries and agencies through a sharing scheme.
BPS has been tasked by the government to perform the early data collection activity, which is directed at improving the recipient database for various social protection programs.
