"The G20 Summit has a positive impact on the growth of tourist arrivals and economic growth in Badung, in particular, and Bali, in general. This is proven by the fulfillment of the Badung District Government's local tax revenue (PAD) target from the tourism sector," Prasta noted here on Wednesday.
G20 is an international forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia is holding the presidency of the grouping this year.
The G20 Summit is scheduled to be held in Bali on November 15-16, 2022.
Prasta expressed optimism that the successful implementation of the G20 Summit would positively impact the image of Badung, Bali, and Indonesia globally.
He said that in order to welcome the heads of state and delegates, various preparations and infrastructure and facility improvements are currently being conducted in Badung.
"We are also very ready to welcome the visit of the delegates from each participating country, with the arrangement of tourism infrastructure in the Samigita Beach area or Seminyak, Legian, and Kuta," he further noted.
In addition to having a positive impact on the community's economy, the district head stated that implementation of the G20 Summit could become a momentum to boost togetherness in realizing world peace and security.
"Badung is a very safe and conducive district because the government and the local community consistently implement Pancasila (state ideology), especially the fifth principle to realize inter-religious harmony," he remarked.
The district head also received the visit of the representatives from the Presidential Security Guard (Paspampres) at his official residence to discuss the realization of the successful implementation of the G20 Summit, especially in terms of security coordination.
On the occasion, he highlighted the commitment to follow the directions of President Joko Widodo and the central government regarding implementation of the G20 Summit and fully support the main tasks of Paspampres at the event.
