Jakarta (ANTARA) - Secretary of President University Foundation Jony Oktavian Haryanto said that a special task force team for China and Indonesia was needed to strengthen the Indonesian sea toll project initiation, which will support the Chinese Government's OBOR project.

"Hopefully, the existence of this special task force team will provide offers, input, and suggestions to the Government of China and the Government of Indonesia so that they will be able to provide special incentives,” Haryanto said in a briefing at NEXT Summit: Global Change and Rebuilding Collaboration in Jakarta, Monday.

He noted that the industry will grow and investors will be attracted to invest in Special Economic Zones.

He also said that a new model of “Komunikasi, Kolaborasi, Networking” (KKN) is needed, the attitude of Communication (Komunikasi), Collaboration (Kolaborasi), and Networking (Networking) to replace the old KKN model, which is also the attitude of Corruption (Korupsi), Collusion (Kolusi) and Nepotism (Nepotisme).

With the new KKN model involving many countries, such as China, Korea, Japan, and other countries, connectivity between regions is productive and the Sea Toll Project is in tune with China’s One Belt One Road initiative.

PT Jababeka, which has more than 30 years of experience in building the Cikarang industrial area, West Java of 5,600 Ha, successfully transforms unproductive land and has become home for multinational companies, such as Unilever, Samsung, Mattel, Hyundai and others.

Also, PT. Jababeka has built other projects, such as Kendal industrial Estate — Special Economic ZonesCentral Java-JV with Sembcorp-Singapore, Tanjung Lesung — Tourism Special Economic Zone (SEZ)-West Java and Morotai Special Economic Zone (SEZ)-North Maluku.

The Morotai Special Economic Zone is strategic, as it is in the middle of trade traffic between Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, Taiwan and China.

Currently, he noted, the Morotai Special Economic Zone can be seen as a strategic initiative to fasten economic growth in Eastern Indonesia, which is lagging behind other regions in Indonesia but actually has abundant natural potential and a very strategic position.

At this forum, the guests include academics and intellectuals who can influence and provide input to the Beijing-Jakarta Government.

“Also, other countries looking to invest in Indonesia take advantage of its natural resources, abundant young workforce, and rapidly growing domestic market,” he said.
