Jakarta (ANTARA) - First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and the spouses of cabinet ministers supervised a COVID-19 vaccination drive at the West Manggarai District Office in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Wednesday.

The First Lady expressed the hope that residents will maintain their health amidst the decline in COVID-19 cases.

"We hope that everyone will be healthy despite the pandemic. We can now resume our activities, and everyone has already received their vaccines. Indonesia is healthy," she said, according to a statement received from the Presidential Secretariat here.

The review of the vaccination drive was part of the activities of the First Lady with spouses of cabinet ministers in the Onward Indonesian Cabinet Era Solidarity Action Organization (OASE KIM) in West Manggarai.

Before heading to review the vaccination drive at the District Head Office, the First Lady read stories to students at a local kindergarten.

"I arrived here from Jakarta with OASE KIM members, then we taught local students how to wash hands, told stories to them, and supervised the vaccination drive for local residents," she said.

Meanwhile, OASE KIM Department 2 deputy head Ida Rachmawati Budi Gunadi informed that her organization had distributed 500 COVID-19 booster vaccine doses for residents in West Manggarai.

OASE KIM is aiming to distribute five thousand COVID-19 vaccine doses, she added.

“Today, we have 500 (COVID-19) booster (vaccine doses), tomorrow we have another 500, and we will distribute a total of 5 thousand booster doses," Rachmawati informed.

According to data from the Health Ministry, as of 6:35 p.m. local time (UTC +7) on September 28, 2022, 86 out of 100 residents have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose.

Of the total vaccination target of 234.6 million residents, around 204.5 million residents or 87.16 percent of the targeted recipients have received the first COVID-19 dose. Meanwhile, 171.1 million or 72.93 percent of the targeted residents have received their second vaccine dose, and 63.2 million or 27.03 percent have completed their third vaccine dose.
