Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs is formulating a module to improve the literacy of Islamic school (madrasah) students.

This is conducted as a follow up on the results of the Indonesian Madrasah Competence Assessment for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic primary school), Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Islamic middle school), and Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic high school).

"Module that will be formulated will guide teachers to improve students' literacy," the ministry's official, M. Ali Ramdhani, noted here, Wednesday.

The module formulation is undertaken based on students' five levels of competency based on the competency assessment result: need assistance, basic, adequate, skilled, and need creation room.

According to Ramdhani, the module will serve as a guideline for educators to improve teaching and learning activities.

The teacher coordinator, madrasah supervisor, instrument formulator, instrument formulator coordinator deputy, instrument expert team, and module expert team, as well as psychometric team from Gadjah Mada University and Brawijaya University participated in the workshop.
