The Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry continues to invite all parties to play a role in protecting Indonesian children through synergy and collaboration
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Bintang Puspayoga said that the fulfillment of children's rights and protection must be a common priority.

"The Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry continues to invite all parties to play a role in protecting Indonesian children through synergy and collaboration," she said here on Sunday.

Puspayoga lauded the Indonesian Association of Child-Friendly Companies (APSAI) 2022 for its active role in the efforts of fulfilling children's rights and protection in the country.

The minister expressed hope that the association can support the efforts of meeting the rights and protection of children as well as realizing the child-friendly districts/cities program.

She also invites other stakeholders to continue to synergize with the Ministry and support government programs in order to create a golden and quality generation.

"The Ministry keeps pushing for public participation in the fulfillment of children's rights and protection in Indonesia. The active role of all parties is expected to optimize government programs in creating a quality generation," she explained.

In addition, she mentioned, the Ministry continues to strengthen the synergy between the central and local governments and collaborate with related stakeholders to accelerate the goal of Child-Friendly Indonesia 2030.

"All parties are expected to keep increasing their attention and active role in fulfilling children's rights and encouraging the realization of a Child-Friendly Indonesia in 2030," she said.

Furthermore, to increase efforts in child protection, several child-friendly programs have been launched, ranging from Child-Friendly Schools, Child-Friendly Health Centers, Child-Friendly Districts/Cities, Child-Friendly Islamic Boarding Schools, and Child-Friendly Madrasas to Women Friendly and Child Care Villages.

On the commemoration of National Children's Day on July 23, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also stressed that children's rights need to be met.

According to the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), there are four basic children's rights: the right to live, the right to grow and develop, the right to be protected, and the right to participate.
