The latest (feature) is the series of training that helps teachers connect between topics
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry encouraged teachers to not hesitate to learn, discuss, and share knowledge and good practices about the Merdeka curriculum through the Merdeka Mengajar (Freedom in Teaching) Platform (PMM).

"We want to encourage teachers to not be afraid to try, discuss, and share," a ministry's technological expert team member, Muhammad Zamrud Al Firdaus, remarked during the webinar titled "Is PMM Important for Teachers?" here on Monday.

He said the Freedom in Teaching Platform had several features that can be beneficial in assisting teachers in learning, including through independent training that comprises four main menus that are the series of training, independent training webinars, a list of topics, and real actions.

"The latest (feature) is the series of training that helps teachers connect between topics. For example, 'Creating a Freedom in Learning Class', so it (guides on) what topics were needed to create this class," Al Firdaus explained.

He noted that the Merdeka Mengajar Platform is quite easy to use, as it is designed in accordance with the needs and speed of each teacher while learning.

The recommended topics include curriculum, learning planning, assessment, and learning adjustment based on each student's needs and characteristics.

He also said that teachers need not rush to complete a topic, as they can opt to jump from one to another topic.

While learning through the Merdeka Mengajar Platform, teachers will not learn alone, as they will meet other teachers from all over Indonesia, through the "Community" feature, he added.

With this social feature, he said, teachers in one community can discuss and share good practices and learning mediums with each other.

"This feature can be used by teachers, related to the level and the subject. They can participate in activities in these communities," he said.
