I hope vocational training would play a more significant role in the development of human resources in Indonesia in futureJakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto affirmed that vocational training is a solution to expedite meeting Indonesia's need for skilled workers.
“I hope vocational training would play a more significant role in the development of human resources in Indonesia in future,” the minister remarked at the Vocational Training Festival 2022 here on Sunday.
Hartarto emphasized that vocational training can improve the competency of the workforce. It is also in line with President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi's) request.
According to Hartarto, to provide training and improve adequate and quality competency, President Jokowi is keen that the Ministry of Manpower ensure that the budget allocation for vocational training could become an integral part of the human resource quality improvement policy.

Secondly, the Ministry of Manpower has also been tasked with paying attention to the scheme of vocational training that is integrated with the world of businesses and industries in a complete labor market ecosystem.
"The president has also asked us to ensure that the development of education and vocational training can complement each other to realize competent human resources," he remarked.
Hartarto said the president had reminded that the vocational training provided should meet the competency on the national and international scales in order to realize competent and competitive human resources.

"He also said that the government must build a solid and harmonious 'orchestra' between the government, regional governments, job training institutions, as well as the business world and the industry world," he affirmed.
After conveying President Jokowi's instructions, the minister commended the Ministry of Manpower's efforts in carrying out the president's directives by continuously pushing for the improvement of human resources' quality and workforce productivity through the vocational training provided in the Vocational Training Festival that is part of the series of events for the National Vocational Training Month (BPVN) 2022.
"I also convey my highest appreciation to the vocational training parties, the business and industry world, as well as all stakeholders, who have done their best for better vocational training in Indonesia," he remarked.
