The bipartite LKS must (represent) relations between both sides, and (we realize) how important it is to build awareness about the importance of bipartite LKS.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah urged companies to set up a bipartite cooperation institution (LKS) as a communication forum between employers and employees to create harmonious industrial relations.

"The bipartite LKS must (represent) relations between both sides, and (we realize) how important it is to build awareness about the importance of bipartite LKS," the minister stated during the conferment of Bipartite LKS Awards 2022 in Jakarta on Thursday.

The minister said Law No. 13 of 2003 on Manpower mandates the establishment of bipartite LKS, while the guideline for the establishment of bipartite LKS is set forth in Manpower Minister's Regulation No. 32 of 2008.

Bipartite LKS is one of the facilities for communication and consultation between employers and employees to support the creation of healthy and productive work relations at a company, she remarked.

Data from the Manpower Ministry shows that only 23,155 out of the 60,423 companies required to submit a compulsory corporate manpower report (WLKP) have bipartite LKS.

"It is sad that not all companies submit their WLKP, while less than 50 percent of the companies submitting WLKP have bipartite LKS," she remarked.

The conferment of Bipartite LKS Awards is aimed at giving appreciation to companies that have set up and realized bipartite LKS well. In addition, it is designed to inspire and motivate companies that have not set up bipartite LKS.

Fauziyah said both sides should exercise patience in the creation of bipartite LKS.

"The presence (of bipartite LKS) is needed to build harmonious and fair industrial relations for the benefit of workers' welfare," the minister stated.
