Noor conveyed the statement while receiving the courtesy call of ANTARA Trade Union (Serikat Pekerja ANTARA) Chairman Abdul Gofur and Secretary General Adi Rusadi at the Manpower Ministry building in Jakarta on Friday.
Noor was quoted as saying in a press statement received by ANTARA on Saturday that he would also ensure the fulfillment of normative rights of workers of SOEs.
Employers should meet the workers' rights, such as decent salary, for which the amount must not be less than that of the decided regional minimum wage, as well as the paid social security scheme BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, he stated.
Noor, who took his oath to hold the deputy ministerial post on June 15, 2022, also welcomed the ANTARA Trade Union's aspirations of being able to rebuild harmonious industrial relations within ANTARA.
The Manpower Ministry will help to fulfill the aspirations of rebuilding harmonious industrial relations in Indonesia's national news agency ANTARA, he said as quoted in the press statement.
To this end, Deputy Minister Noor encouraged the ANTARA management and representatives of trade unions within the company to make all-out efforts to promote a bipartite social dialogue.
As a state-owned media company, ANTARA could always set a good example of implementing harmonious industrial relations based on the values of the state ideology of Pancasila for other state-owned enterprises, he affirmed.
At the meeting, Gofur said the Manpower Ministry could help revive bipartite social dialogue and seek solutions to hurdles that had hindered the endeavors to create harmonious industrial relations.
President Joko Widodo inaugurated Deputy Minister Noor along with two other deputy ministers at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on June 15, 2022.
Raja Juli Antoni was appointed as Deputy Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), while John Wempi Watipo was inaugurated as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.
On the day of his inauguration, Noor said he was confident of establishing sound cooperation with Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah.
He later stated that President Widodo did not specifically instruct him to carry out any special task.
"The president did not yet give a specific target. He asked to help with the ministerial tasks," Noor stated.
