"This must always be supported, as the development of green energy will have a positive impact on health and the environment," he stated here on Tuesday.
Hence, Haryanto expressed optimism that Pertamina would remain consistent in developing green energy, as it will reduce emissions to the lowest possible extent.
"Thus, it also reduces global warming and climate change," he stated.

Similar support was conveyed by member of Commission VII of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sartono Hutomo, who noted that green energy development should be conducted, as the world was currently competing to transform through the use of clean energy.
He cited the example of Pertamina's green refinery, as a national strategic program whose production level, he said, must also continue to be optimized, so that the biodiesel development target can continue to B100.
On the other hand, he said the government must also be able to develop the domestic market for the use of green energy, so that the domestic demand is high, both for biodiesel and biofuels, such as HVO/ Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil, which is currently being developed by Pertamina.
Hutomo said that the use of clean energy is a must. He noted that Indonesia had reached a "point of no return" in terms of climate change and energy security, so new and renewable energy was a concrete solution.
Pertamina is considered to have shown commitment in developing green energy by implementing a transition program from fossil energy to clean energy.
The total budget allocation for green energy development until 2060 is even estimated to reach US$150 billion, or about Rp2,322 trillion, with assumption of the exchange rate of Rp15,490 per USD.

Pertamina has also begun allocating a special budget for the development of green energy, such as developing green hydrogen and electric vehicle battery products.
In addition, various Pertamina products, including Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) or Green Diesel D100, have received world recognition.
Green fuel produced by the Cilacap Green Refinery has received the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) certificate.
The product, known by the brand name Pertamina Renewable Diesel (Pertamina RD), contributes to a reduction of 65-70 percent in carbon emissions from general fuels, so it deserves to be called a green product.
Regarding the development of green energy, Hutomo is optimistic that Indonesia's position, as the G20 President, can accelerate the process of clean energy transition as the key to achieving zero carbon emissions or carbon neutrality in 2060.
