We will cover any bill that goes to the Health Service through BTT fundsMalang, East Java (ANTARA) - The Malang district government in East Java Province dispensed almost Rp900 million for the treatment of victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy, including the costs for treating those at the Kanjuruhan Regional General Hospital.
Head of Malang District M. Sanusi remarked that funds for handling victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy came from the Malang District Government's unexpected expenditure budget (BTT).
"We have spent almost Rp900 million to pay for the treatment of the Kanjuruhan tragedy's victims, including those who died. We all paid for it," he stated in Malang District, Wednesday.
Sanusi noted that the costs for treating victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Kanjuruhan would be entirely borne by the Malang District Government.
Meanwhile, the East Java provincial government will cover the costs for treating the Kanjuruhan tragedy victims, who are undergoing treatment at the RSUD Saiful Anwar in Malang City, he remarked.
"We will cover any bill that goes to the Health Service through BTT funds. For those at Saiful Anwar Hospital, it will be borne by the East Java Governor," Sanusi revealed.
In addition to covering the costs for treating victims at the Kanjuruhan Hospital, the Malang district government has prepared funds for covering treatment costs for victims suffering from eye irritation due to the incident at Kanjuruhan Stadium.
"We still provide outpatient services, including eye treatment. We will cover the treatment at several places," he remarked.
Kanjuruhan Hospital in Malang District has treated 197 patients and 21 bodies of victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy.
A total of 197 victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy that underwent treatment at the hospital had recovered and been sent home.
The riots that occurred after Arema FC's match against Persebaya Surabaya on the night of October 1, 2022, at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang District, caused 135 deaths and injured hundreds of people.
