"Why do other countries, the international (community), believe in us? (It is) because indeed, we are trustworthy and present as concrete, real figures. Our economy is good, and among the G20 countries, we are among the best," the president noted at the 17th Conference of National Association of Young Businessmen in Surakarta, Central Java, on Monday.
During its time as host of the global forum, Indonesia had recorded an economic growth of up to 5.72 percent (year on year/yoy) based on data for the third quarter of 2022, he noted.
"Try to compare it with (the economic growth) of other G20 countries," he pointed out.
Moreover, Indonesia's inflation was still under control, at around 5.7 percent (year on year/yoy), in October 2022, Jokowi remarked.
According to the head of state, several developments in macroeconomic indicators had increased Indonesia's credibility, and this had made several countries place their trust in Indonesia.
"This is our current position, so we have to improve, maintain good things, figures just as I said earlier, inflation and growth (economic growth)," the president noted.
He explained that currently, Indonesia was at the pinnacle of global leadership since it has recently successfully hosted a series of events as the G20 President for an entire year and will serve as the ASEAN Chair in 2023.
“What I want to say is that it is a trust that we don't easily earn," President Jokowi reminded.
