"The recent visit of the Malaysian ambassador is to present an Rp750-million donation pooled from the Malaysian people in solidarity with the Cianjur residents," Kamil stated at the Cianjur District Head Office here Friday.
The governor said that the assistance had been received by Cianjur District Head Herman Suherman for immediate distribution.
Meanwhile, he also urged residents to not receive any government assistance yet and to not take matters into their own hands.
"Do not block any (vehicles carrying) assistance and logistics, whatever be the reason. If residents, who set up their own refugee shelter, need any assistance -- we must also consider that there are multitudes of personal refugee shelters -- they have two ways (to demand assistance)," Kamil remarked.
The governor's remarks were made in response to the recent case of Cianjur locals, who set up a roadblock to demand assistance to passing vehicles transporting aid packages.
He said that residents could visit centralized refugee centres in the respective region's square, where the site coordinator could arrange the assistance distribution to personal refugee shelters in rice fields or front yards of homes.
Kamil also suggested residents to visit the Cianjur District Head Office as the central refugee centre where assistance stocks are adequate.
"Sometimes, (refugee) information overlap (thereby) hindering us from (achieving) effective (assistance distribution). However, I urge residents to not block the assistance because the police will arrest the perpetrators. Second, if residents need any assistance, they could contact any centralized refugee centre or the Cianjur District Head Office," the governor remarked.
