The development of young digital talent is one of the prerequisites for raising Indonesia's ranking on the World Talent Competitiveness Index, which measures a country's competitiveness based on the capabilities of its human resources, he added.
"We hope that in 2030, we already have nine million digital talents in Indonesia," he said at an event held to mark the 2022 Indonesia Digital Talent Day in Jakarta on Tuesday.
In the 2022 World Talent Competitiveness Index, Indonesia ranked 51st out of 63 countries. Meanwhile, its neighboring countries, such as Malaysia and Singapore, placed 31st and 4th, respectively, on the index.
The 2022 Indonesia Digital Talent Day served as an appreciation forum for universities, ministries/non-ministerial agencies (K/L), and youth organizations that have participated in the 100,000 Indonesian Digital Talent Development Training Program.

The program is a collaboration between the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) and Huawei Indonesia and has been running since October 2020.
"From this program, 71 thousand digital talents have been born. Programs like this must be continuously encouraged to achieve 100 thousand digital talents," Moeldoko said.
Increasing and developing digital human resources is one of President Joko Widodo's five directions for accelerating digital transformation, which is an important part of changing the landscape of the Indonesian economy, he added.
As of May 2022, 19 million micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) owners had joined the digital ecosystem, and their number is targeted to reach 30 million by 2024, he said.
"In the government sector, digital transformation helps the performance of ministries/institutions become more effective since everything is integrated," Moeldoko noted.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Huawei Indonesia, Jacky Chen, expressed his appreciation for the KSP and ministries/agencies that have supported Huawei's program for developing and accelerating the digital transformation in Indonesia.
The 2022 Indonesia Digital Talent Day commemoration involved nine ministries/institutions, namely KSP, the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, the Ministry of Communication and Information, the Manpower Ministry, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
