The authorities are delving into the incident and will conduct the law enforcement process.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government condemned the suicide bomb terror act that occurred at Astanaanyar police office, Bandung, West Java, Wednesday, at 8:20 a.m. local time, Deputy V of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Jaleswari Pramodhawardani stated.

"The government condemns acts of terrorism no matter (what) the motives are because they violate humanitarian values," she noted through a statement on Wednesday.

The suicide bomb act cannot be tolerated. The government continues to monitor radical groups and organization networks, including individuals affiliated with terrorist groups, she stated.

Those involved in the suicide bomb attack will not escape the legal process, she remarked.

"The authorities are delving into the incident and will conduct the law enforcement process," she added.

Currently, the Indonesian Police's Anti-terror Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) and the state intelligence are conducting quick investigation to unravel the incident and take law enforcement actions.

The perpetrators of suicide bombing at Astanaanyar are strongly suspected of being affiliated to an old terror network that refuses democracy and modern law, such as the newly passed Criminal Code Bill (UU KUHP), she explained.

According to Pramodhawardani, the UU KUHP has passed through the mechanism at the House of Representatives (DPR) in a democratic manner and was approved by the people.

Disagreement to the law's ratification should be conveyed through a democratic mechanism that has been provided.

The police is conducting investigation on the network of perpetrators. Moreover, the government will bear the victims' costs and immediately conduct repairs to the police office destroyed as a result of the bomb explosion, she noted.

Meanwhile, the government urges people to remain calm and continue their activities as normal, she remarked.

According to Chief of West Java Police, Police Inspector General Suntana, one police officer was killed, and nine others as well as one resident injured in the suicide bomb explosion.
