The perpetrator, riding a motorcycle, was killed on the spot, Chief of the Bandung Police Senior Commissioner Aswin Sipayung stated here on Wednesday.
The alleged suicide bomber was a male, and the attack took place when police officers were conducting a routine morning roll call.
"The man went through the roll call while holding a weapon. Spontaneously, the officers ran away, and an explosion occurred," Sipayung revealed.
The police's mobile brigade was deployed to investigate the incident, and the area was tightly guarded.
West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil appealed to residents of Bandung to stay calm, as the situation was under control.
Additionally, police was disposed the remaining bomb left at the scene at 10:45 a.m. local time at the location.
