"P2DD, or Region Digitalization Acceleration and Expansion, is undertaken to implement one of the most important components in the digital economy ecosystem, which is regional digital finance transactions," Communication and Informatics Minister Johnny G. Plate remarked.
The ministry has prepared various programs and policies to expedite the program, he noted through a statement on Thursday.
These include mandating every Electronic System Operators (PSEs) in Indonesia to comply with regulations that exist in the country and register themselves with the government, he stated during the P2DD National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas).
The registration is undertaken online through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system.
Another form of support from the government for digital and electronic financial transactions is the QR Indonesian Standard (QRIS) provided by Bank Indonesia.
The implementation of P2DD can proceed if adequate digital infrastructure is available nationally, Plate explained.
He also noted that the government currently used over 24 thousand applications since each institution worked alone.
The P2DD is expected to become a program to consolidate applications, so that the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) can proceed well.
The 2022 P2DD Rakornas, held here on Tuesday, was attended by ministers, regional heads from provinces, cities, and districts across Indonesia, both physically and virtually.
In addition to Plate, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, as head of the P2DD Task Force Guide, and Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD were present.
The other attendees comprised Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo and Home Affairs Deputy Minister John Wempi.
