Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) presented awards to 12 government institutions with the highest compliance to the state official wealth report (LHKPN) requirement in 2022.

"To appreciate the roles of public institutions in preventing corruption through the LHKPN management, the KPK presented 2022 LHKPN awards during the World Anti-Corruption Day commemoration event here, Friday," KPK Head of News Department Ali Fikri said in a statement here, Saturday.

He said that the 12 government institutions have achieved a 100 per cent reporting compliance rate for three years in a row and established internal regulation on wealth reports consistent with relevant KPK regulations.

Fikri disclosed government institutions awarded by KPK are Denpasar City, Purworejo District, Paser District, Pamekasan District, and Boyolali District authorities, as well as Morowali District, East Kotawaringin District, and Boyolali District regional legislatures (DPRD).

Moreover, PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero), regional banks PT Bank Jatim and PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Kalimantan Timur dan Kalimantan Utara, and PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung are the state-owned enterprises awarded for LHKPN compliance, he added.

"KPK hopes this award could inspire other institutions to improve awareness among state officials in public institutions essential to realising complete, accurate, and timely LHKPN reporting," the KPK official said.

The state wealth reporting involves officials in the LHKPN management unit in respective institutions to encourage residents' participation to provide inputs on the disclosed state wealth report, he said.

He added that LHKPN compliance is also an early filter against corruption.

Per Law No. 28 of 1999 on clean and corruption-, collusion-, and nepotism-free state administration, state officials are required to report their wealth before and after taking office, as well as required to have their personal wealth checked before, during, and after taking office.

The KPK is authorised to register and examine the reported personal wealth according to Law No. 19 of 2019 on amendments to Law No. 30 of 2022 on Anti-Corruption Commission.

Fikri said that according to KPK data, the LHKPN reporting rate in 2021 reached 98.10 per cent, equal to 375,878 out of 383,147 officials required to disclose their wealth.

Meanwhile, the national compliance rate in the same year reached 94,03 per cent, consisting of 93.76 per cent in the executive branch, 89.83 per cent in the legislative branch, 96.53 per cent in the judiciary branch, and 97.04 per cent in state-owned enterprises, he added.
