BKKBN Chairperson Hasto Wardoyo noted that Bangka Belitung, Lampung, Riau Islands, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, and Bali were the six provinces with a stunting prevalence rate of below 20 percent.
"Despite the exact number being calculated, because the data processing is not complete yet, we expect the final numbers would be known after this meeting by the end of December. Hence, we will have the baseline of achievement indicator in 2022 to calculate the next years' numbers," Wardoyo said in a statement here, Thursday.

During the cross-ministerial and cross-institutional consolidation meeting on the progress of the implementation of Presidential Regulation No. 72 of 2021 on acceleration of stunting reduction on Tuesday (December 13), he said that 22 provinces still have a high stunting prevalence on an average of 20-30 percent.
Meanwhile, six provinces with the highest stunting prevalence rate all have a stunting rate of above 30 percent, he added.
The agency head underlined that collaboration between all stakeholders, including the government, private sector, and public, is essential to ensure access to specific and sensitive nutrient interventions for families with stunting growth risks.
To enhance collaboration in achieving the 14-percent stunting prevalence rate by 2024, regular reports on the progress to achieve key indicators mandated by the presidential regulation is indispensable to monitor and evaluate the progress, he noted.

Wardoyo expressed optimism that good intentions at the meeting could serve as a momentum to motivate all stakeholders to toil in achieving all work indicators and operational definitions for references in setting the next targets.
The agency has received valuable inputs and evaluations from various parties to improve the ongoing program, he said while appealing for inputs from stakeholders to enhance stunting reduction strategies.
"We appeal for inputs from ladies and gentlemen at this meeting, including hindrances that you are facing on the site, which would be the basis of new strategies that will be our new steps to continue our works and (conceive) new strategies for improvements in 2023," Wardoyo remarked.
